Our church buildings
We have two lovely old church buildings, which have been used for worship and serving the community for many centuries.
Recently both buildings have been adapted to provide easy access for wheelchairs and buggies, an accessible toilet, a sound system, refreshment facilities and a children's area.
All Saints, Little Canfield
Dating back to at least the 12th century, All Saints is a Grade 2 listed building.
In 1870 the then Rector of All Saints wrote a poem entitled 'the Village Church' - you can read it here
All Saints is generally open during the day.
Holy Trinity, Takeley
Dating back to at least the 12th century, Holy Trinity is a Grade 1 listed building.
Of particular note inside the church are the pulpit, the font and its cover,
all dating from the 15th century.
A guide to Holy Trinity has been produced by Takeley Local History Society - you can read it here
Takeley Local History Society have also produced a guide to Holy Trinity Churchyard and a database of memorial inscriptions - both of which can be accessed here
Unfortunately Holy Trinity has to be kept locked, so if you'd like to visit, please contact one of us:
